I decided to run for Congress because I believe Arizona deserves leaders who show up and solve problems. As a physician, Navy veteran, and small business owner, I've experienced firsthand what it means to serve others, make difficult decisions, and be accountable for results.

As the son of immigrants who fled tyranny in Syria, I also understand how exceptional our country is and why the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy must be protected at all costs.

If elected, my priorities will be restoring fiscal responsibility, growing our economy, reducing the cost of living, strengthening our healthcare system through patient-centered free-market reforms which level the playing field by supporting Arizona's small businesses, and protecting the constitutional freedoms that make our country exceptional.

I was raised in Arizona, and my wife Nicole and I are raising our two kids here. Public service has been my life's work: as Deputy Attorney General, on the Phoenix City Council, as Mayor of Phoenix, and now in Congress. That work has always come back to the same goal: deliver for the working families and small businesses who make Arizona work.

In Congress, I'm focused on ensuring Arizona's water security, strengthening our infrastructure, and facilitating a booming semiconductor industry that is putting Chandler at the center of America's advanced manufacturing future. I fight for small businesses and working families, and I bring pragmatic leadership, coalition building, and a record of getting things done. This year, the Center for Effective Lawmaking named me the most effective Democratic lawmaker in the country on transportation policy.

I'm running for re-election because I love this country, believe in its promise, and refuse to let extremism in either party define our state's future. Chandler deserves a representative who shows up, listens to Arizonans of all political stripes, fights for what's right, and delivers for those who live here.

Arizona's success has been built on innovation, entrepreneurship, and a business climate that encourages investment and job creation. Chandler exemplifies that success, and I believe Congress should be working to strengthen that environment.

As a small business owner myself for over two decades, I understand the challenges employers face, from inflation and workforce shortages to burdensome regulations and astronomical healthcare costs. My approach will be guided by policies that promote economic growth, regulatory certainty, fiscal discipline, and a competitive tax environment so businesses can invest, hire, and expand with confidence.

I also believe government works best when it serves as a partner that gets out of the way, rather than an obstacle to economic opportunity. I have a long track record of working well with our diverse communities and building coalitions that move our state and our nation forward. I'll work with both sides of the aisle to help grow Arizona's economy and to stand up for free enterprise, innovation, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Strong businesses create strong communities, and I will be a consistent advocate for policies that allow both to thrive.

I'm proud of the relationship I've built with the Chandler Chamber and its members, and I don't take it for granted. We've worked side by side on business visits and industry roundtables, including a Surface Transportation Roundtable in partnership with the U.S. Chamber that informed my work on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. I've hosted Coffees with your Congressman for members, presented certificates to Chamber award winners, and moved a federal workforce development grant forward with a letter of support.

And I've worked closely with local leaders like Chandler Mayor Kevin Hartke to respond to the most pressing concerns facing businesses and residents alike, such as investing millions into Chandler's water and wastewater infrastructure to help diversify the city's water sources and continue to draw long-term investors.

That partnership guides how I lead. I listen to Chamber members, then I go to work. At the recommendation of President and CEO Terri Kimble, I invited Chamber member Greg Fraley of FALCO as my guest to the State of the Union. Greg is a Republican. I'm a Democrat. But Greg's story mattered more than party. Respect for your role as a job creator and community leader will always be the foundation of our relationship.

The Chandler Chamber has earned a reputation as one of Arizona's leading advocates for economic development and the business community. Receiving its endorsement would demonstrate that local business leaders recognize my commitment to free enterprise, fiscal responsibility, and practical problem-solving.

If endorsed, I would view that support as the beginning of an ongoing partnership. I would welcome the opportunity to meet with Chamber members, listen to employers, and seek input from businesses on the challenges and opportunities they face.

As a member of Congress, I want the Chandler business community to know it will always have an accessible, responsive partner who values collaboration and believes Arizona's economic success depends on maintaining a competitive environment where businesses can grow.

A Chandler Chamber endorsement tells voters and business owners that the people closest to Chandler's economy, the ones who know what it takes to grow a company here, trust me to represent them. That credibility matters, and I would be honored to earn it again this election cycle.

I'd use that support to deepen the work we've already built together: more roundtables where members set the agenda; more business visits where I listen before I legislate; more help navigating federal agencies that too often slow small businesses down; and more Coffees with Your Congressman so any member can bring me a problem directly.

I'd also work to secure more federal investment in Chandler, from workforce training and water infrastructure to public safety, transportation and the advanced-manufacturing jobs driving the East Valley's economy.
