Why are you running?

I believe a good government always takes Fiscal Accountability, helps create Economic Opportunities, and ensures Quality of Live for the people. Many politicians are off track. Instead of unifying the people and focusing on real issues and solving real problems, they have purposely divided the people with resentments upon each other for their own political gains. I am a different candidate, who places people’s interest on the top, with a clear mind, global perspective, and extensive knowledge and experience on different cultures.

Why are you running?

I am seeking a second term in Congress because my work there has only just gotten started and the challenges facing our nation are immense. I was the chief executive of America’s fifth-largest city and had an incredibly successful run because we were responsible, financially disciplined, and focused on delivering real results. That’s also been my focus in Congress – delivering results and ensuring the cities, businesses, and people of district 9 are represented effectively. The stakes are high this election cycle as we must elect leaders who will work to ensure long term economic stability and prosperity for our country, not simple partisan victories.

Top 3 issues you would like to focus on (?):

I have many priorities in Congress and this answer will go past the 100 word limit because I believe there are many to highlight.

Economic recovery and growth – Arizona was just finally climbing out of the effects of the last recession when COVID-19 hit, setting our economy back. One of the first calls I made was to discuss what her priorities were and how my office could assist. From that call, we redoubled our efforts to help Chandler Chamber member businesses (among many other CD-9 businesses) access their PPP loans and I ensured 501c6 organization funding was included in the HEROES Act bill.

Investing in America’s Trade and Infrastructure – since being elected to Congress I have put Arizona’s economy first. I was one of a few Democrats to speak out early and often in support of the USMCA which passed last fall. I have also shepherded hundreds of millions of federal investment to Arizona infrastructure and believe continuing these investments is critical to Arizona’s long term economic growth.

Building Resilience to COVID-19 – I have three main priorities to ensure Arizona can whether the COVID-19 storm 1) Getting more relief to our states, local and tribal governments. 2) Getting more resources for testing and contract tracing, and 3) Cracking down on price gouging, especially on PPE.

Building Equity in our Communities – as the past weeks of civic action show, we elected leaders must take action to build equity in our communities, a priority I know the Chandler Chamber shares which is why we worked together to host an SBA webinar in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.

How will your campaign embody the values of the Chandler Chamber?

While the Chandler Chamber did not support me in my 2018 election that I won with a record breaking margin, I believe our relationship since demonstrates how I already embody the values of the Chamber. When you’re elected to public office you’re not just elected to represent the people who supported you, you’re elected to represent ALL of the district and do what’s best for all of the district. I applaud the Chandler Chamber for working tirelessly to build and promote Chandler’s economy and I believe our partnership to further those goals over the last two years demonstrates the strength of our combined efforts.

How will the Chamber’s endorsement help you in the race?

To me this endorsement will not only be an honor, it will send a clear message to the business leaders and entrepreneurs of Chandler that this chamber supports an incumbent who gets things done with a clear track record of working across the aisle. During my term, I have worked hard to ensure that Chandler’s businesses and residents feel that they have a representative in Congress and was honored to receive the Chamber’s “Friend of the Chamber” Award last year. This endorsement will only further affirm that relationship.

Why are you running?

I am running for Congress because our Constitution and founding principles are under attack from within from failed and socialist policies. We are living at a time where many are trying to undo the structure of the United States of America. Our liberty is under attack and must be preserved. Our bill of rights must remain strong for us and for generations to come. The government belongs to the people.

Top 3 issues you would like to focus on:

  1. Effects of lockdowns on businesses
  2. Preservation of Liberty
  3. Representation of all voices in the district

How will your campaign embody the values of the Chandler Chamber?

My campaign will embody the values of the chamber by promoting free enterprise, creating a favorable atmosphere for business, and making sure that our businesses can remain open so people can earn a living from the businesses is they’ve invested so much of their time and life into.

How will the Chamber’s endorsement help you in the race?

That chambers endorsement would help me by showing the district at large that I have the support of those who believe in free enterprise and capitalism. Also that I am here to represent the backbone of our district which is our business community. The small businesses are the community. Your endorsement will recognize that I am the candidate who can protect liberty and your freedom to earn a living, which currently is under attack.
